Immediately dubbed "the mini," the Austin Seven was the British Motor Corporation's contribution to the first generation of European economy cars. True to the fabulous '50s, this car was dressed up in a corporate ruched rail radiator grille and its lower body seam strips were made of stainless steel. But, in every other way, this Austin bore minimal adornment to keep its price well within the reach of every driver. Even the "Austin Seven" badging exemplified the discretion and simplicity that gave the "Seven" its unmistakable charm. |
